Crystal Wilkes received her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University where she received extensive training in evidence-based therapy. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon.
Before joining The DBT Clinic, she has had over seven years counseling experience providing individual, group, family and crisis therapy to individuals, as well as offering supervision and consultation to counseling students. She is highly experienced in utilizing both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, suicidal ideation and self-harm. In addition to her expertise with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, she is trained and experienced in Trauma-Informed Care, Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Collaborative Problem Solving.
Overall, Crystal’s counseling style is non-judgmental, client-centered and trauma-informed. Her reputation for trust building and maintaining relationships with clients is impeccable, and her therapeutic interventions have consistently promoted positive change.
Crystal has seen how powerful Dialectical Behavior Therapy can be or individuals struggling with emotional dysregulation and believes that it provides the tools to create a life worth living.
Crystal’s scope of practice is with adolescents, families, adults, and couples of all cultural backgrounds.
As a strong advocate for self-care for her clients as well as herself, Crystal enjoys many activities when she is not in the office. She loves to read, write, travel, swim and go to live jazz shows. She really enjoys going to see films at the historic theaters in Portland, Oregon.
